How to Turn Ink Business Cash® and Ink Business Unlimited® Cashback Points Into Transferrable Points

The Ink Business Cash® Card and the Ink Business Unlimited® Card are advertised as cashback cards—but here’s the secret: they can actually earn transferrable Chase Ultimate Rewards® points instead of just cash.

With just a couple of clicks (and the right companion card), you can turn that “cash back” into valuable points you can transfer to airlines and hotels. Here’s exactly how to do it:

Related: How almost anyone can apply for a business card

Step 1: Make Sure You Have a Transfer-Eligible Card

To unlock points transfers to travel partners, you’ll need at least one of these Chase cards:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card
  • Ink Business Preferred® Card
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠

👉 If you don’t have one yet, don’t worry—you can still open an Ink card now, earn the welcome bonus, and keep your points in your account. Just don’t cash them out until you have one of the cards above. Once you do, you’ll be able to combine points and transfer them to travel partners.

Step 2: Combine Your Points

You can combine points in the Chase app or on the desktop site. Here’s how:

👉 How to Combine Points in the Chase Mobile App

  1. Open the Chase app and select the card with the points you want to move.
  2. Go to the “Benefits & Rewards” section and tap the arrow.
  3. Tap “Redeem Rewards.”
  4. Scroll down and select “Combine Points.”
  5. Choose the card you want to move your points into (your Sapphire, Reserve or Ink Business Preferred) and tap Next.
  6. Enter how many points you’d like to move.
  7. Tap Review → then Submit.

👉 On the Chase Desktop Site

  1. Log in at chase.com
  2. Click on the card that has the points you want to transfer.
  3. Select “Redeem.”
  4. From the top navigation, choose “Manage Rewards” → “Combine Points.”
  5. Pick the card you want to combine your points into.

⚠️ If no cards show up, you’ll need to link all your accounts first (see Step 3 below).

Step 3: Link Your Chase Accounts (If Needed)

Sometimes your personal and business cards aren’t linked under the same login. You’ll need to log in to your existing business account or create a new login for the business account. If you don’t see all your cards when combining points:

  1. In the Chase app, tap the hamburger menu (☰) → Profile & SettingsManage Linked Accounts.
  2. Add your personal and business cards to the same login.

If nothing shows up or if you want to link a spouse’s eligible card, just call Chase customer service. It’s usually a quick fix, and once your accounts are linked, future transfers will be seamless.

Step 4: Transfer Points to Travel Partners

Once your points are combined into a Sapphire, Reserve, or Ink Business Preferred account, you can transfer to partners like:

  • Airlines: United, Air France/KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Southwest, and more
  • Hotels: Hyatt, IHG, Marriott

This is where the magic happens: what started as “cash back” points can now book flights, luxury hotels, or family vacations.

That’s it! You’ve unlocked the full value of your Ink Business Cash® and Ink Business Unlimited® cards.

Why Everyone Should Have These Cards

So why are the Ink Business Cash® and Ink Business Unlimited® such no-brainers?

Besides the huge welcome bonus, these cards offer:

  1. No Annual Fee – These cards cost you nothing to keep long term. That means the points you earn are essentially free travel as long as you’re only putting your regular spending on the card.
  2. Extremely Valuable Points – The points earned aren’t just “cashback.” When paired with a Sapphire® or Ink Business Preferred®, they become Chase Ultimate Rewards® points that you can transfer to travel partners—most importantly, Hyatt (the only bank besides Bilt that transfers to Hyatt), my favorite hotel partner for family-friendly, luxury, and all-inclusive stays.
  3. Strong Everyday Earning
    • Ink Business Cash®: 5x points at office supply stores (up to $25,000 per year) plus 2x at gas stations and restaurants.
    • Ink Business Unlimited®: 1.5x points on every single purchase, with no limits.

Together, these two cards create a powerful combo that earns tons of transferable points at no cost. That’s why I recommend everyone have both in their wallet if they’re serious about traveling more for less, especially families who want to stretch their points for maximum value.
