Kennedy 89 Frankfurt Review (New Hyatt Unbound Collection Hyatt Hotel)

By Melissa Vines, updated April 5, 2026.

Kennedy Frankfurt View Hyatt

Kennedy 89 Frankfurt is one of the newest luxury hotels in Frankfurt and part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection. In this review, I’ll share exactly what it’s like staying here with kids, how we booked it with points, and whether it’s worth it.

We recently had a one-night stopover in Frankfurt on our way home from Asia, after quite literally flying around the world for Spring Break. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure if I’d regret taking the long route home… but this hotel made it completely worth it.

This brand-new Hyatt, the Kennedy 89, opened just two months ago, and it ended up being one of our favorite stays of the entire trip. Even better, this hotel is great for families, as we were able to book directly into a suite that sleeps five for just 23,000 Hyatt points.

How we booked the Kennedy 89

We used 23,000 Hyatt points (transferred from Chase Ultimate Rewards®) to book a one-night stay at Kennedy 89, part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection.

This hotel is a Category 4 property, so a standard room typically costs between 12,000 and 18,000 points per night. The Ambassador King or Twin Suite, which sleeps five, runs about double the cost of a standard room.

For just 23,000 points, we were able to book directly into the Ambassador King Suite.

And this is what makes this property such a great option for families, you can actually fit all five people comfortably in one room. The cost of the points is similar to booking two standard rooms, but having everyone together in a suite made this an even better value for us.

The Welcome at Kennedy 89

We had such a wonderful welcome at Kennedy 89. We were greeted right as we arrived from our Uber, our bags were taken inside, and we were immediately offered Champagne, juice, or water. Check-in was quick and seamless, and everyone was incredibly friendly. The service truly felt over the top; we honestly felt like we were the only guests.

Our kids were even given their own dog-shaped room keys, which was such a fun touch. From there, we were personally escorted around the property. We were first shown the beautiful club lounge, then the fitness center, and finally brought up to our room.

When we walked in, we were blown away. There were so many thoughtful welcome gifts waiting for us—containers filled with snacks, a lime dessert, fresh bread, local beer, and a basket of beautiful fruit. They also let us know the minibar was included, stocked with sodas and teas, and there were waters placed by the bed.

The pull-out sofa was already made up for the kids, and when we requested a rollaway, it was delivered right away.

We were truly impressed by the level of generosity and kindness throughout our stay; it made such a lasting impression.

The Room at the Kennedy 89

As mentioned earlier, we booked directly into the Ambassador King Suite at this brand new property, so I can’t speak to whether upgrades are offered with Globalist status, but honestly, it was worth it to me to book directly into a suite.

The space was beautiful and incredibly functional for a family. It featured a large bedroom with a king bed and a full ensuite bathroom, plus a separate living area with a pull-out sofa and an additional full bathroom. We also had two outdoor patios, one off each space, which was such a nice bonus.

The suite even included a kitchenette with a dishwasher and a washer/dryer, which is such a great feature, especially for longer stays. The value here is honestly incredible.

The design was modern, clean, and exactly what you’d expect from a brand-new hotel. I love a fresh, newly opened property, and this one did not disappoint. It had gorgeous furnishings and everything we could possibly need.

If I had one small complaint, it would be that the bed was a little firm, but that’s pretty typical in Europe, and it definitely didn’t stop me from getting a great night’s sleep.

When we returned from our evening walk into the city, we found three stuffed dogs waiting for the kids: “Clipper,” the hotel’s mascot (I assumed). It was such a thoughtful touch and really sums up the level of care we experienced throughout our stay.

The Breakfast at the Kennedy 89

With Globalist status, we were told that breakfast would be included. Since it’s typically limited to two adults and two children, it was very generous that they covered all five of us.

Breakfast was served in a beautiful restaurant and included both a buffet and made-to-order options. You could order a main dish from the menu, and they also offered omelets, eggs, pancakes, and waffles upon request.

The menu items were a bit more unique, likely German specialties, and not all of them were familiar to me. I tried one, and it wasn’t my favorite, but my husband ordered the eggs Benedict and said it was delicious.

The buffet, though, was a big hit. It included fresh pastries, fruit, and crispy bacon, which is always a win with my kids. They also loved the pancakes and waffles.

Of course, coffee and tea were included, and both were very good.

The Service at the Kennedy 89

As mentioned earlier, if it wasn’t already obvious, the service here was outstanding. From check-in to breakfast to simple conversations about where to walk or what to see, the staff consistently went out of their way to be kind and welcoming.

They also made a huge effort to make our kids feel special, from giving them their own room keys to surprising them with thoughtful gifts during our stay. It really stood out and made the experience even more memorable for our whole family.

Honestly, this may have been one of the friendliest hotels we’ve ever stayed at, and that’s saying a lot. We’ve stayed at some Park Hyatts that didn’t have service quite at this level.

The hotel is still very new, so they’re likely focused on making a great first impression, but either way, we were so grateful for it, especially after a long 13-hour flight from Singapore.

Club Lounge

The club lounge completely surprised me. I didn’t spend much time researching this hotel since it was just a quick overnight stay. I was honestly just excited to find a room that could sleep all five of us.

But on top of everything else, this hotel has a club lounge, and it felt more like a restaurant and bar space than a typical lounge.

We were told we could order drinks and snacks, and the attendant even walked us through a menu with different options. Some items were lighter snacks, while others felt more like real food.

That said, we had just come off a Singapore Airlines business class flight (where we had plenty of food and drinks), so we weren’t able to fully take advantage of it.

I didn’t grab a photo of the menu, but from what we saw, it looked like a really nice offering, definitely more elevated than your standard hotel lounge.

Hotel Status

We hold Hyatt Globalist status, which comes with some great perks like waived resort and parking fees, room upgrades, late checkout, complimentary breakfast (typically for 2 adults and 2 children), and club lounge access.

Since we booked directly into a suite, upgrades didn’t apply in this case, but we were still able to take full advantage of the free breakfast and club lounge access, which added a lot of value to our stay.

Family Rooms

This hotel is perfect for families, since you can book directly into a suite at a very reasonable award rate. The Ambassador King and Twin Suites both sleep up to five guests.

The Parking

Self-parking is €39 per night, but it is waived with Globalist status.

Amenities

There’s a great fitness center and a club lounge here, but no swimming pool.

The View

We absolutely loved the view from our patios. We arrived just as the sun was setting, and it was gorgeous. In the morning, the light over the buildings below was just as beautiful.

You can see churches and stunning architecture throughout Frankfurt; it felt very charming. I’d definitely recommend requesting a high floor if possible. I believe we were on floor 11.

The Location

We loved the location of this hotel. We took an Uber from the airport, which was about 15 minutes, but you can also take the train.

It’s a short walk to the river, and from there you can walk along the waterfront into Old Town in about 20-25 minutes.

Local Activities

From the hotel, we walked along the river into Römerberg. It’s such a cute area, and we did a little souvenir shopping while we were there.

We found a great pizza spot called Cereza Pizza—and maybe I was just craving something different after days of Thai food, but it tasted amazing. We also stopped for gelato at Pallina Gelato, which was another great find.

It ended up being the perfect evening, with beautiful weather, a relaxing walk, and some really good food. I enjoyed Frankfurt much more this time compared to my first visit… and it probably helped that we skipped the traditional German food and went straight for pizza.

Would We Return?

100% we would return here. I’d even consider going out of our way to stay again because we had such a great experience.

I’m not sure if my expectations were low since it was just a short stay, or if it was the relief after a long flight, but either way, it ended up being the perfect one-night stop.

I hope you get the chance to experience it—you won’t regret it.
