For those of you who are not familiar with credit card miles, you are probably finding this a little hard to believe. If you believe the title then you might think this person is taking advantage of someone or something. Well, the latter is not true, but the title of the post is true and I will show you how to do this.
We recently stayed at the Adero Scottsdale Resort for Valentine’s weekend. We have tons of Marriott points, (more on how to earn them later), so we decided to check out the Adero Resort, recently bought out by Marriott Hotels. The points required for one night was 35,000 points. The cash value was well over $400 for a basic room, so it was well worth it to use points.
In 2020 we earned Platinum status with Marriott by only staying around five nights. Because we have the cobranded credit card and because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Marriott gave customers extra qualifying nights, meaning we qualified for Platinum Status.
Platinum status gives you tons of benefits but the most important ones are suite upgrades and free breakfast at most Marriott-branded hotels.
We were upgraded to an amazing corner suite because of our status and because there was availability. The cash value of the corner suite was well over $900 before taxes, parking, and resort fees. We also received free breakfast, two complimentary drinks, and a food and beverage credit of $10. We paid the valet parking fee and resort fee. It was an unforgettable stay.
Adero is the perfect resort for a romantic stay. We will be back.
